Default Best Job Worst Job - 20-02-08, 10:55 PM

Greetings Everyone,

Pondering on some of the jobs I've had in the past made me consider wht the vest and worst were to date.

Worst
Must have been in a gambling shop where I used to clean machines, give change or tokens to the customers and host bingo. The job was just a part time thing whike I was at Uni but what made it the worst job was the boss. Likkle hitler that would get into some serious moods when the old ladies would come in to see if they could win some shopping vouchers from the Bingo.

I can't remember what the woman said to me one day but she didn't like the fact that I'd let some of the old women have an advantage so they could get the vouchers. I mean they were the only people who actually came for them so why not. Anyway, my girl went and threw a big tanturm which was common but that day I had enough. The way she was going on was like the vouchers and money spent on them were coming out of her own pocket. Can't even recall what I said to her but know there was argument and I walked out while still supposedly on shift.....came back some time later to see the woman skinnin teet waiting for the apology........as I handed her my unifrom and walked straight back out. Boy did that feel good!!!

Best
Before self employment it has to be my first job and again because of the boss I had at the time. What I really liked about him was the fact that when he saw me learn one thing, he taught me more and didn't leave me hanging so he could get props for being the boss. Something I've learnt many bosses do. He was very good in pushing me thourgh the ranks but only because of the way I performed. He didn't feel threatened by me liek the fag ash lills who worked with him did.

There were people there before me and after me who still do the same job over and over again. I couldn't do that. Even a few weeks back I went into the place to buy a few things and saw a woman that was there when I was that was like 15 years ago!!!

So what was your best and worst job so far?

Worse Job

Was a part time job I had in Shoe City. the shoes were horrible plastic things, and they had some dumb policy that they will always refund no questions asked. So all the pikeys would bring back the shoes 2 months later all worn out and stinky and replace them for new ones.
Then getting there was a nightmare because it was on the purley way and I wasn't driving and the 289 came about twice an hour. There was no real road so I had to walk past the place the pikeys lived with their donkey and dogs and would have to wait for my friends so we could all run through the area together.
Then we had some new manager that came and told us we all had to wear a pair of shoes from the company. I don't wear ugly plastic, so I found another job and left.

Best Job

My current one. I'm cabin crew (flight attendant for you US folks) and I love it. I love the travelling, and being able to meet some fab people.

well i have only had three jobs(!) my best job is the one i currantly have as a teaching assisitant in a priamry school. the one before that was good too, as a homework helper i libraries, except the horribly low pay, i enjoyed haning out with the kids and really feeling like i was providing a service, espescially for parents for whom english was not a first language.. My worst job was working for roya mail. Soul destroying. four hours a night of throwing packets in sacks (a great way to releave pent up anger though lol) the pay was half way decent but absolutly haed it.

YOU ARE NOT DEFINED BY OTHER PEOPLES\' OPINION OF YOU!! ;0)

Worse for various reasons - paper-round, just couldn't get up in the mornings which made me late for school and meant I missed many a morning bath - milk-round in the winter carrying them glass milk bottles between your fingers and being amazed how the cold and chillb'd fingers didn't seem to bother my white colleague - grocer store aged 14-16 packing shelves weekday evenings and all day Saturday when 'everyone' else my age was out having fun and MacDonalds, refused to do the trash walk where you walk round the block picking up the rubbish on the floor wearing a big jacket saying LITTER PATROL - after working in the grocer I told myself there are certain jobs i wouldn't do just to earn money...cleaning, road sweeping, bin collecting were just some of them.

Best, probably my time at MTV flying out all over Europe and doing my bit for the Europe Music Awards chilling with Shaggy, Sean Paul, Beyonce and co....ok, I mean carrying their suitcases...and having my name roll up on the credits....and even more enjoyable seeing it bunn two red-eye grey bwoy who squandered any hope of a career on weed wine and women!!

By the way brothas, if you think Beyonce is fit you need to see her dancer Aisha Francis - seriously packing....don't even mention Sean Paul's choreographer Tanisha Scott...that bumper is illegal!!. And of all the opinions out there on Beyonce if there is one thing you cannot deny her it's as an artist and a performer. An exceptional lass.

Got a contract lined up in the US...watch this space

Maar,
Hmm... Let me see here.....to be honest, most of the jobs, which was only four, I liked . If there was a job that I liked the most as when I was working as a receptionist for my city. I liked the working atmosphere and I found out that I could be near retirement( Yep! i unbelievably in my 30's to 40's). I ahd some good incentives with them. Far as the worst job, I say is cleaning my home( if you want to say that is a job). It can be a taxing at times when you nephews are over.

Incognito, good luck with that contract.
Astmartins, just look out for me. There aren't many black women rocking natural hair in my job. LOL
